MIKE GOLDBERG

MIKE GOLDBERG

Mike Goldberg lives and breathes comedy. He is a director and writer who takes a comedic approach to storytelling as a way to engage an audience. It’s about keeping the concept grounded and let the humor of the situation play itself out naturally.  From commercials to social media campaigns to activations to a sitcom, Mike’s experience covers a wide range. Mike directed a national campaign for the Weather Channel that received 25 million impressions in a week highlighting a dozen weather nerds wearing yellow sponges mud sliding in a thunderstorm. He directed a global social media activation for Mentos that featured a college freshman handing out 43,000 pieces of Mentos gum to 43,000 of his closest friends. Thinking a bit differently, Mike directed a short form series in the style of a 70’s sitcom for a bagel restaurant chain going national. For Turner Entertainment, Mike created and directed an actual sitcom based on his life as a mental health counselor in a locked psychiatric unit.
With an agency background, VP/CD at McCann Erickson and VP/CD Hill Holliday, Mike understands the importance of staying true to the  strategy in all forms of content. He’s able to interpret a script and bring it to life, while elevating the humor. As a creative director, Mike has created successful campaigns for Coca Cola, Citibank, Staples, Verizon, ESPN and Popeyes.
Mike got his start directing a campaign for a New York City based international dog and cat pet store chain, if you consider Jersey international, which won a Clio, a DA&D and an ADDY. One of Mike’s side gigs was managing a great downtown NYC rock band directing  dozens of live videos and getting MTV to check them out. Mike is also an accomplished artist having shown his work at Sotheby’s New York and at galleries across the country.  Mike graduated from Boston University with honors and also studied at the School Of Visual Arts in New York City.
