I love telling stories and I love the story telling process that has allowed me to see the world first hand as only the film business can. I spent many years lighting sets for many directors across the country, some were very talented and some were not, but their projects were always a rewarding learning experience.

Throughout my career I’ve worked on all kinds of projects including big budget movies, music videos, documentary films and a ton of commercials. After lighting for other cinematographers I finally left the nest and took on the title of DP and never looked back. Lighting, Color and Composition will always be my life-long fascination and passion. As I now move from one project to another, retrospectively I’m glad I spent years building a solid foundation to support my journey knowing that I have the tools it takes to bring the client’s story to the screen.

A number of years ago I decided to try my hand at directing and found it to be a coming-home experience. Being involved with casting, wardrobe and art decisions allows me to be involved at a deeper level in the story telling process.

I love to study people, and as a director you get to explore the hidden spaces between the lines of our lives. I get a kick out of working with kids of all ages and love the challenge of directing real people from all walks of life and of course, seasoned actors as well.

I really hate getting “pigeon holed” and must say that I’m as comfortable on a tabletop food shoot as I am working with the timing of an actor’s comedic delivery. Both have challenges that I enjoy and I thrive on that diversity.

I pride myself on being a good listener and a team player, always willing to explore fresh ways of telling a story.
